Wylie Adventures; There and Back (Finke Desert Race 4)

 23rd May, Finke departure is coming up at  race pace with only 21 days to race day 1. Rider Roy has been out in the country having some serious sand and whoop practice near Braidwood. Tested out all the new gear including serious Steg pegs. Made sure the bike could stand up to a bit of sand... and water... Not sure the rider stood up to it so well, but all good!

  12th May 2021 Time is rushing by, 31 more days until race day 1 (or thereabouts). Training and fitness program progresses with weekly dirt bike rides, mostly in the Brindabella ranges around Canberra. More time on the beast today preparing for Finke - beautiful part of the world ! Giving the bike a rest next to a nice cool creek! Glad I wasn't doing this trip on the pushy! A great opportunity to see how far the bike goes on the new long range tank! Far enough fortunately!  Also adding in daily other exercise such as bicycle around Lake Burley Griffin and up the 3 or 5 peaks. Today became the Local Legend of Long Red Hill on Strava! Woo hoo.
