June 8th another beautiful day in Alice Springs.

Didn’t exactly leap out of bed today.
Investigated getting a new tyre-success! Just drop the wheel in this afternoon and they’d be switched. Then as we headed to the track, a warning light on the dash for the electrical system, check now! So we found a Ford dealer at the far other end of town and drove in. They were very helpful and found a loose screw on the new battery and tightened it up for us. Finally off to the track. Pulled up at the big red sand hill 30km out, and did a bit of photography, 2 passes up the dune and off to 12pm. The turn around time to head in the opposite direction, North, and come back for lunch and coffee.

Rider had had enough so we packed up and returned to the cabin, whipped off the back wheel and dropped it in for the switch while we went out to the track and registered, mug shot taken, posters acquired. 


Picked up switched tyre on the way back and returned to put the wheel back on and do the routine service. A beautiful sunny day but a bit chilly
Plan for dinner at the Juicy Rump, (Casino) catching up with Rich and Wal, newbies to Finke,  from Canberra.

Monday July 5th Undara to Emerald Queensland Cooking toast at the bush breakfast, Undara 8359km journey from home Homeward bound on the great inland way Up early, we had, without thinking too hard, on arrival booked in a bush breakfast for our departure day. It seemed a good idea to not have to rustle up breakfast while packing, but actually we have a long day's drive and now we have to wait til breakfast starts up!  23rd May, Finke departure is coming up at  race pace with only 21 days to race day 1. Rider Roy has been out in the country having some serious sand and whoop practice near Braidwood. Tested out all the new gear including serious Steg pegs. Made sure the bike could stand up to a bit of sand... and water... Not sure the rider stood up to it so well, but all good!

Thursday 8th July Dubbo to home via Cowra From Dubbo we are homeward bound and will sleep in our own bed tonight. We've had a fabulous trip, but its always nice to get home too. What we saw: Eastern rosellas Galahs Cowra lookout, a nice coffee spot with amenities Cowra look out. Back to mask wearing in NSW Also a nice  park under the bridge on the way out- maybe next time! Flocks of corellas Mulga Parrots 10735km round trip . Home!
