A day of sightseeing before leaving Alice
11am Linda picks us up.
Spent the morning packing and paying bills etc.
Headed out on the Binns track, a beautiful red dirt road in the East MacDonnell ranges.

Stopped at N’Dhala Gorge, in amongst a beautiful landscape of the surrounding ranges, and walked in to a small green pond to watch the flocks of little birds come in to drink.

The zebra finches were bravest and came in first.

Then the budgies would fly in but were spooked very easily, even the camera shutter would send them flying off. A raptor came in whistling and all the little birds took off. We walked in further towards the gorge for a while and took a few more shots before heading back, taking a few more bird shots then back to the car for lunch, sitting on a bench in the shade.

Drove on to see the Ross River homestead and extensive campground. There was a group of peahens on top of a 4wd, looked so funny!

Drove back on the main road to Trephina gorge road, drove in to see the 300year old ghost gum which was magnificent.

Linda drove us back to. the Winter sun cabin and we farewelled her, last of the M8's racing team to separate for 2021. Packed up, gave away the spare petrol and zipped into Woolworths to stock up on some groceries as we will be away from big towns and supplies for some time. We quickly dropped groceries off and headed off to the Juicy Rump (casino) for fish and chips and the Wednesday special, KOREAN chicken! Both very nice. Used the free wifi to update apps.
Back to do final packing, tea, coffee and bed, ready for an early start tomorrow on the holiday section of the trip.
